Taylor Business Institute’s dedication to promoting students’ personal and professional success is reflected in the wide array of traditional and innovative student services available through the college.
New Student Orientation
Students new to Taylor Business Institute begin their educational experience with a student orientation where they are introduced to staff and provided with an overview of the college’s programs, expectations, policies and procedures. Students also explore and discuss attitudes associated with getting the most out of their educational experience. The Student Handbook and Catalog will be reviewed as a part of student orientation.

Course Delivery
Courses at Taylor Business Institute are offered in-person and hybrid/online formats. Instructors are available for student conferences. Please see the instructors’ office hour availability posted each quarter. To ensure the best learning experience, all students are required to have a fully functional laptop for their classes.
Library
The library has program-specific volumes, general education books, reference materials, fiction and non-fiction volumes, and current periodicals that support student learning in all programs. Many other resources are available from the library in electronic formats. Library services include reference and research, reserved readings, electronic database searches, online support programs, library orientation, and instruction in use of resources, materials, and Internet access. Taylor Business Institute also participates in inter-library loans through Reaching Across Illinois Library System (RAILS) consortium.
Tutoring Assistance
There are times when a student may require academic support throughout a course or within a specific focus area. Students requiring tutoring support should complete the online tutoring request form to arrange for this service.
Academic Advising
The Dean of Academic Affairs and Faculty oversee and provide the academic advising for the college. A student’s academic progress is reviewed at the end of each quarter to ascertain if academic advising is required.
Accommodations
Taylor Business Institute provides accommodations for students upon request. To access this service, students must contact the Dean of Academic Affairs.
Mentoring
There are times when a student would like the support and guidance of a professional who may be part of the college or a volunteer within its mentorship pool. Students requesting a mentorship experience should complete the mentorship form to make arrangements for this relationship.
Counseling
There are times when students confront circumstances that require professional support. Students who would like the assistance of a trained counselor should complete the Counseling Request Form available on the website.
