History of Taylor Business Institute

Taylor Business Institute provides associate degree technological based training to High school graduates and working adults. It fosters an environment that fuses technology enhanced education and general education to contribute to the professional and personal growth of the educated person.


Established in 1964 by Bert Schiff, Nancy Taylor Secretarial School was created for non-college bound women featuring a new high-tech alpha based short hand system.In 1972 the name was changed to Taylor Business Institute and the school began accepting males.

In 1973, Taylor Business Institute was first accredited and was approved to grant its first associate degree in 1982. Today, Taylor offers three associate degree and several diploma programs. It can be referred to as a two year associate degree college, a technical college, a vocational training school or a college of higher education.

During the past 40 years, Taylor has empowered thousands of graduates. Under the current management, the college continues to prosper and is a business with a family flair.
