The Director of Career Services, Peggy Flerick, has joined a Networking group call Meetup.com. It is a recruiting and business-building group that meets once a month at different locations in downtown Chicago. The Career Services Director is sharing this information with Taylor Business Institute's Graduates.
The Graduates can sign-up on different Meetup Groups, such as Law Enforcement and Health Care sites.
The idea of Meetup is to have individuals meet and greet others in their chosen careers, with the hope of finding employment through somebody who knows somebody that is hiring.
Recently, the group met at Homewood Suites on Grand and Michigan in downtown Chicago. The theme was based on a speed networking basis. Each individual in the room was paired with someone else for a 3 minute interview. Each person was to introduce themselves and speak about what type of employment they are seeking. After each person has met everyone attending, the hope is that somebody knows somebody that eventually leads to employment.
